Analysis of Proton-Proton Elastic Scattering at ISR Energies

Abstract:

The proton-proton elastic scattering process is studied by using the Van der Waals type model for the centre-of-mass energies of 23 to 63 GeV. It is shown that the model explains the experimental data on the dip structure in the differential cross-section and gives the values of total cross-section and nuclear slope parameter at different |t| values for various energies in the above range consistent with the experiments.
