Abstract:
Using canonical operator formalism, the chiral U(1) anomalies are investigated in model field theories with 1+1 dimensions. In some special cases, these theories have those particle spectra which behave effectively as two dimensional Weyl fields. This must be taken into account in defining charge operators with normal ordering. It is shown how such structure of the theories produces chiral U(1) anomalies.
