Abstract:
Cluster structure in the highly-excited states of 24Mg is investigated by the use of the 16O+2α orthogonality condition model (OCM). In order to avoid a large dimensional calculation, a µ-truncation method is proposed and its usefulness is discussed. The results of the 16O+2α OCM show that the 20Ne+α cluster structure is dominant in the highly-excited states with Ex=10∼20 MeV. The α-16O-α linear-chain structure in highly-excited states of 24Mg is discussed.
