Abstract:
We compute the static propeties of baryons in a variant of SU(3) Skyrme model proposed previously, where we can assume Fπ its empirical value without contraction to the baryon mass-spectrum. The predicted static observables, including gA, are mostly consistent with experiment. The effect of the higher order terms in the time derivative of the rotational variables is reasonably small, which is necessary for the model to be an effective low-energy version of QCD.
