Free Boson Equivalence of the SU(N) Massless Thirring Model

Abstract:
The SU(N) massless Thirring model is investigated by the non-abelian bosonization method with the energy-momentum tensor of the Sommerfield-Sugawara form and is showed to be equivalent to a massless free boson theory at particular coupling constants. The relationships between Halpern's solution, and Dashen and Frishman's scale-invariant solution are illustrated.
