Abstract:

In a framework of the ATMS method, one- and two-body density functions of the α particle are derived by using the Reid soft core V8 model potential. Deuteron-deuteron spectroscopic amplitudes describing the relative motion between the deuterons in the α particle for the (d, α) reaction are derived from the α and deuteron wave functions generated with the same potential. These functions are well represented as a sum of Gaussian functions. These Gaussian expansions have a real convenience of practical use, because their Fourier transforms can be obtained analytically.
