On the Chiral Soliton Model with ρ Mesons

Abstract:
A Chiral Soliton model coupled with the ρ mesons is re-examined by including fourth order derivative terms needed to stabilize solitons. There appear six such terms in the approach based on the hidden local symmetry. The static solutions and their stability are studied in two cases with different fourth-order terms: (A) with the Skyrme term and (B) with a ρ-coupled term. As far as parity-conserving solutions are concerned, the stationary solution in model (A) cannot be the absolute minimum for the Skyrme coupling e>7.5. In (B) the ρ-coupled stabilizer does not affect low energy relations of π-ρ-skyrmion system, and gives rise to negligible contributions to the soliton mass.
