Power Spectra of Intermittent Chaos Due to the Collapse of Period-3 Windows

Abstract:

The global spectral structure of intermittent chaos just before the period-3 window of the logistic map is numerically investigated by taking long time series of order 2¹⁵. The power spectrum turns out to have two eminent peaks at frequencies 0 and 1/3, which consist of many equally-spaced lines.
