Abstract:

We investigate global symmetries and Yukawa couplings in the Calabi-Yau manifold K which results in four-generation models. By the full use of global symmetries on the compactified manifold, all Yukawa couplings are calculated concretely and they are expressed in terms of a few parameters. It is shown that among various types of the embedding of Gd = Π1(K) into E6 the most attractive model is the one with the gauge symmetry G = SU(3)C ×SU(2)L ×SU(2)R ×U(1)2 at the compactification scale. In this model quark/lepton mass matrices and the longevity of proton are discussed in connection with the R-symmetry.
