On the β - γ Angular Correlation of Sb¹²⁴

Abstract:

We investigate the β - γ angular correlation of Sb¹²⁴ taking into account the effect of the Coulomb field. It is shown that the linear combination of the three nuclear matrix elements, \int β α, \int β σ × γ and B_ij^βin the first forbidden tensor interaction of the Fermi theory explains the β-decay of Sb¹²⁴ almost completely, and in this case the transition of the nucleus is 3(-) - 2(+) - 0(+). Moreover, many other cases are discussed.
