Abstract:

In the Hamiltonian formalism, the chiral gauge transformation is shown to be described by the noncanonical transformation. Consequently the vector field generating the gauge transformation involves the noncanonical part, and anomalous terms appear in the Lie bracket of these vector fields. But this anomalous algebra cannot be represented in terms of the poisson bracket constructed with the modified symplectic structure. This implies the existence of the nonassociative algebra also predicted by several authors.
