Dynamic Scaling Laws for the Intermittent Switching between Two Bands

Abstract:
A chaotic orbit of the second iterate of the logistic map just after the continuous band merging exhibits the intermittent switching between two bands with a mean lifetime τ. Its spectrum is numerically shown to obey a dynamic scaling ψ(ξ)=τ-1A(ξ-ξ∞), where ξ∞ is a constant and A(y) ∝1-{1-(by)2}1/2, b being a constant.
