Exchange Relations in Wess-Zumino-Novikov-Witten Model and Quantum Groups

Abstract:
We investigate the quantum exchange relations for the chiral vertex operators in Wess-Zumino-Novikov-Witten model by using free field realization. We construct the screening operators corresponding to arbitrary positive roots in SL(n) case, and show that the monodromy matrix coincides with corresponding quantum R-matrix. Our result agrees with the view that the quantum group in chiral Wess-Zumino-Novikov-Witten model appears as a hidden global symmetry in the chiral decomposition.
