Abstract:

To investigate the spin wave and the stability of the ferromagnetic Kondo lattice, we describe the state with Sz = S - 1 and that with Sz = S - 1/2 in terms of the variational wave function. In this model, it is found that the spin-wave spectrum does not differ appreciably from the RPA result, since the bottom of the individual-particle excitation lies in a relatively high energy region. In this article, the double exchange ferromagnet is discussed with the Nagaoka ferromagnetic state of the U = ∞ Hubbard model, with respect to the stability of the ferromagnetic state.

In this paper, the spin wave of La1- x AxMnO3 has been discussed in terms of the perturbative expansion with respect to J and 1/ Sf in the single-band simple cubic lattice. There he concludes that experimental results can be well fitted by taking into account the effect of finite J. However, it is not clear that his result can actually be directly compared with the experimental results where one should assume a large enough J and 1/ Sf = 2/3, in addition to the realistic band structure comprising the eg-orbitals of Mn. Especially, the latter structure will be indispensable to reproduce the spin-wave dispersion quantitatively.
