Right-Handed b to c and u Coupling Model and CP Violation

Abstract:

We investigate CP violation in the purely right-handed b quark to c and u quark coupling model under the constraint on the right-handed W-gauge boson mass MR>720 GeV, which has been experimentally obtained recently by the D0 Collaboration at Fermilab. By using the data for the KL-KS mass difference, the CP violating parameter ε in the neutral kaon system and Bd-\barBd mixing, together with the new data Br (B-→ψπ-) / Br (B-→ψK-) = 0.052 ± 0.024 (≈∣Vcd/Vcs2), we are able to fix all three independent angles and one phase of the right-handed mixing matrix VR. Under these constraints, another CP-violating parameter, ε'/ε, and the electric dipole moment of the neutron are shown to be consistent with the data in our model. The pattern of CP violation in the nonleptonic decay of Bd (Bs) mesons to CP eigenstates is different from that in the standard model.
