Abstract:

We investigate the nucleon-nucleon interaction using the qq interaction based on the Goldstone-boson exchange mechanism in order to obtain a unified understanding of one and two baryon systems. We find that the chiral constituent quark model, which provides a quantitative explanation of the light excited baryon spectra, has too strong NN tensor force, generated from the π-exchange effect, and this model does not generate the necessary medium-range attraction of nuclear force. The present framework needs additional mechanisms to give a positive contribution to the Δ-N mass splitting and the short-range repulsive effect.
