Abstract:
We summarize the presentations in this session from a point of view of
particle acceleration in the vicinity of a magnetized neutron star and a
white dwarf.
We take the radio and hard X-ray emission as a clue for the
particle acceleration, and summarize the results of the past
observations in the literature.
Efficient particle acceleration seems to be working only in the isolated,
highly magnetized neutron stars.
In the mass-accreting, highly magnetized objects, particle acceleration
and even the production of hot, thin thermal plasma seem to be
suppressed.
