Abstract:

The present article is a report on the Symposium on Elementary Particles, which was held in Kyoto under the sponsorship of the Research Institute for Fundamental Physics, during the period September 21-23, 1965, prior to the International Conference on Elementary Particles in Commemoration fo the Thirtieth Anniversary of Meson Theory.
The purpose of the Symposium was to explore new approaches and ideas as well as to summarize recent developments. The Symposium was expected to play a role more or less complementary to the International Conference that followed the Symposium through the participation fo considerable number of younger Japanese scientists and give a good chance of communication of new ideas occurred to physicists of various countries and generations.
