Abstract:
From the middle of 1960's, various investigations have been made seeking for realistic understanding of hadron reactions on the basis of the composite model of hadrons. The present article is a survey of the investigations including many works reported at meetings of a long range project, “the composite model and hadron reactions”, organized by the Research Institute for Fundamental Physics.
As some people call the project “line physics”, continuous and conserved lines, which express the rearrangement of the minimum possible numbers of the countable constituents (quark and presumably three string junction as quasi-constituent) behind hadron reactions, are basically important in both the soft and hard regions of momentum transfers.
The essential contents as well as the layout of the chapters below have been discussed by all of the authors. However, the responsibility is born by the specified authors for the following chapters: Chapter II (M. I., T. M., K. N. and S. S.), Chapters III and IV (M. I., S. O. and F. T.), Chapter V (K. N. and F. T.), Chapter VI (Y. I. and S. S.), Chapter VII (M. I., T. M., S. O. and S. S.) and Chapter VIII (Y. I., M. I., S. O., S. S. and F. T.).
