Abstract:
Simple arguments are given to explain in a unified way the two mechanisms for the Curie-Weiss susceptibility in the mutually opposite extreme cases, the local moment limit and the weakly ferromagnetic limit. The behaviors of spin fluctuations in these extremes and in the intermediate situation are illustrated.
