(Received October 22, 1985)

Abstract:

The Faddeev-Popov ghost coordinates that arise in the covariant quantization of bosonic strings and of superstrings in the old formalism are described. The construction of the BRS charge and the cancellation of anomalies in the algebra of constraints are also explained.
